How to Make a Boo Basket
Making a boo basket couldn’t be simpler. All you’ll need is a basket that’s big enough to fit everything you’re giving to your child or partner. Place everything together nicely, and voila! You have a boo basket.
Here are some of the best baskets on Amazon, but any basket or box will do in a pinch! Bonus points if you’re able to reuse it as storage afterwards!
If you’re not getting a basket that’s already festive, an optional step here would be to decorate your basket. You could start by adding some stickers or colored ribbons to make it more festive. Or, if you’re feeling crafty, try making your basket look like a ghost, vampire, or other monster!
What to Put in a Boo Basket: 7 Ideas
So, now that you know how to make a boo basket, what should you put in it? While boo baskets for kids and adults may look very different, try to keep the Halloween theme alive!
Whatever you decide on, think of what your kids or partner love, and try to tailor the box to make it meaningful to them!
1. Candy or Other Treats
What would Halloween be without candy? In my opinion, no boo basket could be complete without some sort of sweet treat. Add a selection of favorite candies, or other treats. If you’re a baker, adding some festive treats would be a great idea, too.
Of course, if your child’s trick-or-treating, adding more candy to their Halloween may not be necessary. So, this may be more special for the adult boo baskets!
2. Blankets
A fuzzy blanket makes a great addition to a boo basket. This can also be an easy way to wrap everything in your basket up to make it look extra cozy.
We recommend going with a color that fits the theme, and complements the rest of your basket. So, think orange, beige, brown, or something with an autumnal pattern.
3. Cozy Clothes and Pyjamas
If you don’t go with a blanket, an alternative can be a piece of cozy clothing. Something like fuzzy socks, slippers, scarves, or sweaters would work great. Once again, make sure it’s fall-themed. Check below for a few of our top picks!
4. Plushies
For our final cozy option, a fall-themed plushie is perfect for a boo box. Anything spooky or fall-themed will work great here!
Jellycats are a big favorite, and luckily they have a few adorable fall options, including pumpkins, and coffee!
When in doubt, Snoopy is a fall icon that would fit in perfectly here as well.
Aside from Jellycat and the Peanuts, there’s no shortage of other adorable fall-themed plushies out there. So, you should be able to find something for everyone!
This 4 pack of Squishmallows would be great if you’re making multiple boo baskets, and these ghost and black cat pillows are also adorable.
5. Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate
With it starting to get cool out, fall is the perfect time to give someone their favorite hot drink.
For adults, buy an assortment of their favorite coffee or tea. It’s always nice to give something that’s a little nicer than they would buy for themselves. For most kids, packs of hot chocolate will be much appreciated!
6. Mugs
Of course, if you’re buying hot drinks for someone, they’ll need a mug to drink them out of! There are a ton of seasonal mugs available around this time of year, but here’s a few picks for inspiration!
Happy Halloween!
We hope this guide helps inspire you to make fun boo baskets for your friend, family, and loved ones this fall. Happy Halloween!
