I have several friends who have recently welcomed little ones into the world (and although this goes without saying, I am totally in love ❤). I’ve found myself wanting to help but struggle with either (1) not knowing what to do, (2) not knowing when it is helpful, or (3) getting my friends to tell me 😉 Have you ever been there?
As a gesture and conversation starter around what they may need, I recently made these coupons for my new mom friends and wanted to share them with you! At least if it’s written down, it opens the door for different ways you can make yourself available to them, including:
- Bringing dinner
- Buying groceries or running errands
- Cleaning their house
- Taking a “night shift” so they can sleep
- Taking a “day shift” so they can shower, work out, nap, whatever!
- Entertaining sibling(s) for an afternoon
- Walking their dog(s)
- Being on call for general adult interaction & conversations
- Babysitting (down the road, of course!)
The sets are pink, blue, or grey for any occasion. You can give them once the baby is born, or ahead of time with a baby shower gift (regardless of if the parents know the gender). All you have to do is print on some cardstock* & cut*!
While most people won’t go out of their way to “redeem” the coupons, you can send a simple text like, “which coupon would help you out this week?” More than anything, it’s an easy way to let them know you’re happy to help in those ways and open the door for follow-up.
Plus, check out these 10 easy, delicious meals to take to them once they come home!
What are some of the most helpful things friends & family have done for you as a new mom? What about things you’ve done for others? I’d love to know!!
